A major Atlantic hub constructed during WWII, it is referred to as Torbay Airport to avoid confusion with Saint John, NB. It features a unique 3-runway triangular layout common for CFB military airports of the era, and has several transatlantic flights to Dublin, London, and Paris on narrow body aircraft, and has many unexpected diversions of widebody aircraft. It can be a difficult airport to manage due to a constant need to backtrack aircraft on runways.
