It’s currently impossible, as far as I know, to have a plane taxi along the same taxiway twice. Take KSAN Taxiway Bravo, as an example. The current “real world” taxi clearance given when departing Rwy 27 is “Bravo, Alpha, Alpha 2, Bravo,” which is due to the construction of the new terminal. I don’t think it’s possible to clear an aircraft over Bravo (or any taxiway) twice in the current version of the sim - at least I’ve never been able to make it happen.
I would LOVE to see the ability to do this. If there’s a way to create the ability to clear a plane to “Taxi to Spot X and hold,” and have that be the origin and destination of that route, and then that entire route terminate at that Spot with the ability to give it a new “A to B” route after that, I think it would tremendously open up the functionality of the sim. The ability to clear a plane to, say a taxiway intersection and hold, and then “dump” out that route, which allows us to issue a new route in reverse would be huge.
Vic’s idea of seeing how Tower gamers would do with real FAA controlling was a really interesting idea, but this is one aspect you really need - you need to be able to get really creative with taxi routing when things get jammed up, and when the aircraft’s gate is always the destination then, at least to me, it really binds your hands.
If there’s already a way to do this, I’d LOVE to know. I’ve been playing TS3 since release and was a long time T3DPro player before that, and I’ve never seen it possible. Thanks!
